Getting It From Here to There, It's a Crap Shoot!

Many of you know from recent personal experience that quite a few packages are taking vacations in warehouses while on route to their final destinations. Not every package is delayed, in fact most of mine (both outgoing and incoming) have arrived reasonably on time. I use USPS almost exclusively. I have had very, very good luck with them over the years. I want to support them since they have struggled financially without the revenue from first class mail. I ship several hundred packages a year and my local post office gets the “credit”.

Apparently much of the trouble is due to staff shortages due to Covid 19. I can’t help think that the recent changes by the postmaster general have contributed as well. At least the deluge of mail from mail-in ballots is behind us.

The good news is tracking numbers. At least with tracking numbers you have some idea what’s happening, where your package is and when (though not always) to expect it.
